Legislative Report
June 10, 2026

Saskatchewan’s economy continues to grow with key investments in our infrastructure, education system, and entrepreneurial sectors. Through these investments, our government continues to support communities and drive long-term growth across the province.

Building on this economic momentum, manufacturing sales reached $2 billion in March 2026. Saskatchewan led the country in month-over-month growth. Statistics Canada reported a 20.6 per cent increase over February and an 18.3 per cent year-over-year increase. These results highlight the strength of Saskatchewan’s industries and the advantages of a competitive business environment that attracts investment, creates opportunities, and protects Saskatchewan people. This builds on our record 2025 real GDP of $85.4 billion and a 12 per cent rise in private capital investment, the largest increase in Canada.

Alongside this domestic growth, our government is expanding its global trade presence. Premier Moe will lead a trade delegation to explore new opportunities across the European Union, meeting with officials and industry leaders in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. These meetings will promote Saskatchewan’s safe, reliable, and sustainably produced food, fuel, and fertilizer. These trade missions strengthen access to key markets and support efforts to grow exports as targeted in Saskatchewan’s Growth Plan.

At the same time, we are reinforcing our trade relationship with China, building on tariff reductions secured earlier this year. Discussions focused on maintaining stable, predictable access for Saskatchewan producers and expanding opportunities in agriculture, energy, and critical minerals. Together, these missions highlight our government’s commitment to opening markets, supporting exporters, and ensuring Saskatchewan products remain competitive on the world stage.

As these trade relationships strengthen, we continue advancing major infrastructure projects that support families and communities. Construction of the new Prince Albert Victoria Hospital acute care tower has reached 50 per cent completion. This marks a significant milestone for one of the largest health-care investments in Saskatchewan’s history. The tower will increase capacity by approximately 40 per cent, expanding inpatient beds from 174 to 242. It will feature a rooftop heliport, larger emergency and operating rooms, dedicated pediatrics and maternity units, a new adult mental health unit, an intensive care unit, and the region’s first MRI. Mechanical, electrical, and interior work continues to progress. This project will deliver meaningful improvements to ensure northern residents receive the right care in the right place at the right time.

Further supporting Saskatchewan families, education infrastructure is also expanding. On May 27, we celebrated the grand opening of St. Raphael School in North Regina. It is located within a new joint-use elementary facility. This modern school reflects our commitment to strong learning environments and student success. Our government invested $63.7 million towards this project. The facility includes capacity for 1,000 students, a shared community space, and a 51-space childcare centre. This new school will strengthen family connections and provide students with a supportive place to learn and grow.

In addition to new school spaces, we continue to support teachers through new opportunities that enhance classroom learning. For the 2026-27 school year, we are investing $1.5 million to support 33 new teacher-led projects through the Teacher Innovation and Support Fund. Since 2024, the fund has supported 169 projects with nearly $6.5 million. These investments help teachers deliver creative, hands-on learning experiences across the province.

Encouraging innovation remains central to our economic strategy. Applications are now open for the second intake of the Saskatchewan Young Entrepreneur Bursary. The program will provide up to 57 bursaries of $5,000 to business owners aged 18 to 35. It also supports entrepreneurs operating for less than 10 years and reflects our belief that Saskatchewan is one of the best places in Canada to start and grow a business. This initiative is administered by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. It received more than 340 applications from 87 communities last year.

Together, these developments show how Saskatchewan is growing, building, and investing in its people. From leading the nation in manufacturing growth to expanding health care capacity, opening new schools, and supporting teachers and young entrepreneurs, our government remains focused on delivering meaningful progress for families and communities across this great province.
