Investment Action Strategy Paying Dividends

Earlier this year our government unveiled its new investment action strategy - Securing the Next Decade of Growth. This strategy combined with Saskatchewan's trade and investment website, InvestSK.ca, contains helpful information for potential new markets and explains in detail how our province is the best place to do business in Canada. We are proud of our industries and the people of Saskatchewan who produce world-class products used around the world each day.

The revenue we generate from our global markets is invested back into the people of Saskatchewan every week of the year. Recent initiatives include the opening of the fourth Elmwood Group Home in Saskatoon, funds to assist interpersonal-violence education and supports, road construction investments in northern Saskatchewan, expanding immunization options for infants, new and enhanced supports for individuals with disabilities and agricultural scholarships.

Post-secondary students can now access free textbooks and academic resources in one convenient location. The Government of Saskatchewan has partnered with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan to launch a new website to host open education resources through one central website. These free digital resources lower the cost of student expenses and increase access to high-quality educational materials for all students.

Our government has also partnered with the University of Regina on a new mental health program for parents. The online therapy course was developed to help new and expecting mothers and their partners who are experiencing mental health difficulties, such as depression or anxiety. The Wellbeing Course for New and Expecting Parents is offered through the University of Regina's Online Therapy Unit with $380,000 in funding from the province. A Non-Birthing Parents Resource is also available through the program and will continue to be enhanced this year.

Spring seeding is well underway across Saskatchewan. With 18 per cent of the 2025 crop now planted, seeding progress is ahead of both the five-year average (10 percent) and the 10-year average (12 percent). Despite multiple storms throughout the province in April, producers were able to get into their fields and make rapid progress over the last couple of weeks. Our government extends its best wishes for a safe and prosperous growing season.
