Saskatchewan Leads in Economic Indicators

Mr. Jenson: — Thank you very much, Mr. Deputy Speaker. Yet again we have received more great news about our economy. Saskatchewan is once again leading the nation in multiple economic indicators. Mr. Deputy Speaker, today we’ve seen urban housing starts increase by not 10 per cent, not 20 per cent, not 30 per cent, not even 40 per cent, Mr. Deputy Speaker, but 53 per cent through the first three months of 2023 compared to the same time last year. This increase is also ranking first among the provinces.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, as we’ve said in this House many times, these indicators are further proof that Saskatchewan has the food, the fuel, and the fertilizer that the world needs. What we see under this government, Mr. Deputy Speaker, is an economic record to be proud of. Mr. Deputy Speaker, it’s abundantly clear that Saskatchewan is the best place to live, work, and raise a family.

While the members opposite talk down the positivity on this side of the House, we’ll continue to be optimistic about the future of this great province. These indicators tell a real story. We’re seeing international investment, job creation, and population growth that we would have never seen under the members opposite. And, Mr. Deputy Speaker, on this side of the House we’ll continue to tell that story at home and around the world. Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker.
