Saskatchewan Achievement in Business Excellence Awards 2022

Mr. Jenson: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Our province’s business community was centre stage at the annual Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce Achievement in Business Excellence Awards held in Saskatoon on November 5th at Prairieland Park.

Mr. Speaker, award winners were presented in eight categories. And I’m proud to recognize Sandy Shores Resort and Marina at Lake Diefenbaker for winning the Marketing Award, Pet Planet in Prince Albert for the Service Award. Alicia Soulier of Saskatoon’s Salon Scale Technology was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Canadian Organic Spice & Herb Co. of Watson was exporter of the year. The Innovation Award went to Custom Agricultural Intelligence here in Regina. Synergy Credit Union of Lloydminster took home the Community Involvement Award. Saskatoon’s Maven Water & Environment won the Growth and Expansion Award. And Farmer Jane Cannabis Co. of Regina picked up New Venture of the year.

Mr. Speaker, two other long-time businesses in our province were also recognized. The law firm of McKercher LLP was inducted into the Saskatchewan Business Hall of Fame, while the Roger Phillips Chamber Builder Award was presented to Evan Ortynsky, owner and president of Key Auto Group in Yorkton.

Mr. Speaker, small businesses play an important role in our economy here in Saskatchewan, and our government is proud of the contributions these and all the other businesses in our province make. Thank you.
